I lived a dream of mine last month at Pavones Yoga Center. I left my family for 26 days to complete a 200 hour yoga teacher training, something I’ve wanted to do for many years. With my youngest now seven years old I felt the time was right for me to go and I’m so glad I did! It was magical, and wonderful, and everything I hoped it would be. I laughed, I cried, and learned so much. On the weekends we had some time off to wander the village and experience all of its charm. I enjoyed trying out all of the local restaurants and wasted no time finding the chocolate dealers in the area. ;) Pavones is a surf town, known by surf tourists all over the world for it’s famous left point break (the second longest in the world) which runs the entire length of the village. I’m not a surfer, I can’t even swim to save my life, but I sat on the shore for hours watching the magic, especially when my teacher was out catching the waves. So badass!
Each day I woke up to the bellow of the howler monkeys. The toucans and macaws would fly nearby and serenade our morning practice. The sound of the ocean waves crashing on the shore provided the perfect soundtrack to every session. We had the most incredible ocean view before us, and the lush jungle behind. Cicadas, tree frogs, and thunder storms all added their voices to our ‘earth-based’ training. Pavones is where it’s at. This place is magical. During my stay I committed to a ‘digital detox’ so I could focus all of my attention and intention on the training but I had opportunities on the weekends and at special times to catch some of beauty here in pictures. Enjoy!
